3D weak gravitational lensing of the CMB and galaxies

چکیده
In this paper, we present a power spectrum formalism that combines the full 3D information from the galaxy ellipticity field, with information from the cosmic microwave background (CMB). We include in this approach galaxy cosmic shear and galaxy intrinsic alignments, CMB deflection, CMB temperature, and CMB polarization data; including the interdatum power spectra between all quantities. We apply this to forecasting cosmological parameter errors for CMB and imaging surveys and show that the additional covariance between the CMB and ellipticity measurements can improve dark energy equation of state measurements by 30 per cent. We present predictions for Euclid-like, Planck, ACTPoL, and CoRE-like experiments and show that the combination of cosmic shear and the CMB, from Euclid-like and CoRE-like experiments, could in principle measure the sum of neutrino masses with an error of 0.003 eV, and the dark energy equation of state with an error on w0 of less than 0.02.

Weak Lensing: Prospects for Parameter Estimation
Weak lensing of galaxies by large scale structure can potentially measure cosmological quantities as precisely as the cosmic microwave background (CMB) though the relation between the observables and the fundamental parameters is more complex and degenerate, especially in the full space of adiabatic cold dark matter models considered here. We introduce a Fisher matrix analysis of the informatio...
متن کاملThe Cluster Mass Function from Weak Gravitational Lensing
We present the first measurement of the mass function of galaxy clusters based directly on cluster masses derived from observations of weak gravitational lensing. To investigate the degree of sample incompleteness resulting from the X-ray based selection of the target clusters, we use a sample of 50 clusters with weak lensing mass measurements to empirically determine the relation between lensi...
متن کاملProbing the Universe with Weak Lensing
Gravitational lenses can provide crucial information on the geometry of the Universe, on the cosmological scenario of formation of its structures as well as on the history of its components with look-back time. In this review, I focus on the most recent results obtained during the last five years from the analysis of the weak lensing regime. The interest of weak lensing as a probe of dark matte...
متن کاملWeak Gravitational Lensing of the CMB
Weak gravitational lensing has several important effects on the cosmic microwave background (CMB): it changes the CMB power spectra, induces non-Gaussianities, and generates a B-mode polarization signal that is an important source of confusion for the signal from primordial gravitational waves. The lensing signal can also be used to help constrain cosmological parameters and lensing mass distri...
متن کاملThe Far-infrared Background Correlation with Cmb Lensing
The intervening large–scale structure distorts cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropies via gravitational lensing. The same large–scale structure, traced by dusty star–forming galaxies, also induces anisotropies in the far–infrared background (FIRB). We investigate the resulting inter–dependence of the FIRB and CMB with a halo model for the FIRB. In particular, we calculate the cross–corr...
متن کاملConstraints on Ωm and Σ8 from Weak Lensing in Rcs Fields
We have analysed 53 square degrees of RC -band imaging data from the Red-Sequence Cluster Survey (RCS), and measured the excess correlations in the shapes of galaxies on scales out to ∼ 1.5 degrees. We separate the signal into an “E”(lensing) and “B”-mode (systematics), which allows us to study residual systematics. On scales larger than 10 arcminutes, we find no “B”-mode, suggesting that the s...
